Famous Advertising Campaigns

Throughout the years, there have been so many famous advertising campaigns that no one can remember them all. Here are some advertisements to jog your memory and for you to hopefully enjoy.

Even if you are not old enough to remember them yourself, someone you know remembers the Burma-Shave signs with their roadside jingles. Beginning in 1927 and ending in 1963 these signboards along the nations highways entertained generations of American people while advertising Burma-Shave. These advertisements consisted of five part jingles with the sixth signboard noting Burma-Shave. This was very effective advertising, and was entertaining to the motoring public as well.

Famous advertising campaigns for food include Campbell's Soup and their Mmm Mmm Good slogan and song and just about, everyone has wished they were an Oscar Mayer Weiner or at least had that jingle stuck in their head. Through the years, Wheaties has featured sports heroes in hope of being America's breakfast of champions and the Malt O' Meal advertising jingle said that winners warm up with malt-o-meal.

Soft drink advertising has produced many famous advertising campaigns through the years beginning with promotional items such as calendars, bottle and can-openers and drinking glasses up to the multi-million dollar television commercials of today. Coca-Cola and Pepsi have gone head to head in advertising wars for over one hundred years with no end in sight. Coca-Cola had its teaching the world to sing in harmony song and Pepsi their taste test challenges and both will continue to entertain the buying public with their advertising as both promote their product.

Tobacco Company advertising has changed significantly with the health risks associated to smoking, but everyone remembers cigarette advertising. There was the Marlboro Man a quiet, strong cowboy who smoked Marlboro cigarettes and Camel cigarettes with their Joe Camel advertising.

Personal care products such as hair cream, toothpaste, hair dyes etc. have evolved through the years and have created some famous advertising campaigns including both print ads and televised commercials. Brylcream's a little dab will do you advertising promoted the usage of their product as well as the cost effectiveness. Crest toothpaste not only advertised their Crest smile, but also promoted the American Dental Association's recommendation of their product in their advertising. Clairol's advertising campaign depicting women having more fun if they were blonde were successful advertisements for years.

Here's hoping you have enjoyed some of these famous advertising campaigns!
